The young man is identified as the main person responsible for the attack that took place on July 8th. According to the Civil Police, the teenager is being investigated for criminal acts similar to the crimes of qualified damage and attempted qualified theft. A provisional arrest warrant issued by the Court was served against him. During the criminal action, the church was set on fire and the tabernacle, the place where the consecrated hosts are kept, was violated. After being identified as the main suspect, the teenager was located by police teams and apprehended. After executing the warrant, he was subjected to the procedures set out in the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA) and made available to the Judiciary. Walls, furniture and religious objects were hit by the flames, and the roof of the property also suffered damage. Investigators also collect images from security cameras installed near the church. The Maranhão Civil Police is investigating the case.
