PM vehicle siren G1 The Civil Police arrested, on the morning of this Wednesday (8), in Marabá, the main suspect of killing receptionist Marli Pereira da Silva, aged 40. The crime occurred in March this year and is being investigated as femicide. Weverson Huge Ribeiro da Silva, aged 22, had a preventive arrest warrant served during an operation that also carried out two search and seizure warrants. According to the Civil Police, clothes and a toothbrush were collected to obtain genetic material, which will be compared to traces found at the place where the victim's body was located. According to the superintendent of the Civil Police in Southeast Pará, Antônio Mororó, the seized material will be subjected to forensic examination to compare it with a condom found in the area where Marli's body was found. Marli Pereira da Silva was found dead on March 10, in the waters of the Tauarizinho River, in a section below the BR-230 bridge, in the Cidade Jardim neighborhood. The body was located by the Federal Highway Police, who called the Civil Police. The victim had worked for 11 years as a receptionist for a communications group in Marabá. The suspect also worked at the same company and, according to investigations, was the last person seen with Marli the night before the crime. Two days after the body was found, Weverson spontaneously presented himself to the Civil Police accompanied by lawyers, but was released as there was no arrest warrant at that time. The delay in arrest led to demonstrations by family, friends and co-workers, who demanded speedy investigation. After Wednesday's arrest, the suspect will be sent to the prison system, where he will remain at the disposal of the courts. ? Follow the g1 Pará channel on WhatsApp
