Stamped! takes workshops and carimbó circle to the Center of Manaus Photo: Disclosure The Center of Manaus hosts this Saturday (8) 'Carimbolou!', an event dedicated to popular culture. The program starts at 7pm, at Espaço Cultural Muiraquitã, with dance and percussion workshops that present the main elements of carimbó. Entrance to watch the carimbó circle and the show costs R$15. The dance workshop will be taught by Sereia do Norte. Percussion will be handled by Marcelo Nakamura, with emphasis on the traditional instruments curimbó and maraca. The objective is to offer the public an immersion in the universe of carimbó, valuing music, dance and the knowledge maintained by collective practice. At 9pm, the event continues with a carimbó pau and rope circle. The group Gira Manaós welcomes Marcelo Nakamura on stage. Workshop students also participate, putting into practice what they learned during the experience. ? Join the g1 AM channel on WhatsApp O Caribolou! It seeks to bring together both those who already experience carimbó and those who will have their first contact with the tradition. The workshops cost R$40 and have limited spaces.
