"Suddenly there was an explosion and the thing was to hide in the bathroom and let the time pass. It was desperate", recalls Vilson. Another affected resident was beautician Fabrine Jiukoski. At the clinic where he works, the force of the wind broke the glass on the facade and allowed the rain to enter. She reports that she found the space filled with shrapnel and water. The establishment was already closed when the storm hit the city. "Now we need to fix it, there's not much we can do," says Fabrine. Despite the damage, there were no deaths recorded. Some people were injured and suffered cuts and bruises.
