A new monitoring system to increase security began operating in Jacareí. A 7 meter high totem and another 70 small totems should reinforce the monitoring of strategic points, selected by the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Defense. The initiative represents an expansion of the capacity of the IOC (Integrated Operations Center) and is part of the set of actions of the Smart Jacareí program. Jacareí City Hall Disclosure The large totem was installed in Praça Conde Frontin, where there is a large circulation of people throughout the day. The equipment allows video capture with a 360º range, without obstructions, in addition to having LED spot lighting, blue and red identification strobe, bi-directional speakers for alerts, emergency panel and reinforced anti-vandalism structure. For small totems, whose installation is in progress, the idea is to reinforce monitoring in specific areas - such as sidewalks or road entrances. In the future, the equipment will also feature a system for calling the population to the Municipal Civil Guard, as a way of facilitating and speeding up contact in cases of emergency. The monitoring action is different from the IOC's traditional cameras, which are dedicated to large areas. Currently, similar equipment is also used in cities such as Salvador (BA), Recife (PE), Cajamar (SP), Louveira (SP) and other public and private institutions. The installation is expected to be completed by the end of August.
