Trees will be maintained The preservation of the 17 existing trees in Ferreira Pena was one of the points that drew attention during the publicity of the project. According to Manaus City Hall, none of them will be removed. "The trees on Ferreira Pena will be maintained. There are 17 trees and none will be removed. They are part of the natural and urban landscape of the street and favor the entire concept developed for the "Gastronomic Street". Quite the opposite: we want more and more trees in Manaus", stated the director-president of the Municipal Institute of Urban Planning (Implurb), Antonio Peixoto. The trees will be integrated into the new street design. Benches and planters will be installed along the stretch, including under the shaded area of ??the canopies.
