More than 300 homes had their roofs damaged, while some were completely destroyed. According to Civil Defense, another 115 cities reported damage due to the meteorological events that affected the state this week. The municipality also faces difficulties in communication and energy services. Part of the city remains without cell phone signal, and residents still live with a lack of electricity. To maintain services, the city hall installed satellite internet equipment in the municipal health unit. Despite the intensity of the phenomenon, there were no deaths. Some people suffered bruises and cuts. According to Civil Defense, around 500 residents were homeless until early Thursday evening. From the first hours after the storm, city hall teams have been working to assist affected families. Initially, tarpaulins were distributed to protect damaged properties. This Saturday, the delivery of fiber cement tiles began to residents who lost part or all of the roof of their houses. According to the municipal administration, the objective is to allow families to begin the process of recovering their homes as quickly as possible. The city hall states that it remains mobilized to provide assistance to residents and monitor the reconstruction work.
