The creative economy has established itself as an important source of income generation for many families, especially for women and young people. In Araraquara, this vocation gains strength through the Public Fairs Program, developed by the Municipal Secretariat of Economic Development, through the Undersecretariat of Labor and Creative and Solidarity Economy. The initiative expands marketing opportunities for local entrepreneurs and strengthens a public policy aimed at encouraging the creative and solidarity economy. In addition to creating spaces for visibility and income generation for exhibitors, fairs also offer the population an option for leisure and consumption of products with cultural and territorial identity. “We are in the 8th edition of the Creative and Solidarity Economy Public Fair, which will take place on July 18th and will feature more than 60 creative economy entrepreneurs”, highlights the head of the Creative and Solidarity Economy Promotion Division, Camila Capacle. To participate in any fair, public or private, the first step is to register as an entrepreneur in the creative and solidarity economy. Registration is continuous and can be done using the form available on the City Hall website: https://araraquara.sp.gov.br/feiras-de-economia-criativa-edital-cadastro-continuo-dos-empreendedores. The required documentation varies depending on the activity. For the Crafts, Thrift Shop, Design categories, among others, it is necessary to present ID and CPF or CNH, proof of updated address and CNPJ card, if you have one. For the Food area, in addition to these documents, it is mandatory to present the Good Practices in Food Handling Course Certificate. The course is offered free of charge by the City Hall, online, through the Government Virtual School. "After the initial registration, the entrepreneur is included in our communications group, where the monthly notices for public fairs are sent. The notices are also published on the City Hall's official website, and the selection is made by draw", explains Camila. She reminds us that registration for the August Public Fairs is now open. On the 15th and 29th of August, the fairs will be held at the Children's Park. Registration continues from July 13th to 31st, with 50 places on offer for each edition. The electronic form is available at https://forms.gle/ffE9ATRZgYSXv32U7. Those who do not have internet access can register in person at Espaço Kaparaó (Av. Dr. João Pires de Camargo, 1382, Vila Yamada), from 9am to 3pm. Camila reinforces that the selection of participants is carried out by electronic public draw, ensuring transparency and equal opportunities. Participation in the fairs is subject to prior registration in the Municipal Register of Entrepreneurs of the Creative and Solidarity Economy. “Those who have not yet registered can do so continuously using the form available on the City Hall website”, he highlights. In addition to Public Fairs, the program also includes Private Creative Economy Fairs, held in public spaces by groups, associations and collectives of the creative and solidarity economy, duly registered and authorized. Registration can be done via digital form (https://forms.gle/9uNft1TJDay8cYmN6) or in person at Espaço Kaparaó, from July 13th to August 11th. With the program, the municipality expands opportunities for entrepreneurs, encourages the circulation of local production and strengthens the creative economy as an instrument of economic development, social inclusion and appreciation of Araraquara's talents.
