PSB launches Samuel Costa as a candidate for the government of Rondônia

The Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) confirmed Samuel Costa's candidacy for the government of Rondônia. The decision was taken during a convention held this Monday (20), in Porto Velho. Samuel Costa is a lawyer, journalist and teacher, specializing in Political Science, born in Porto Velho, son of public school teachers, and will run for the position for the first time. Other candidacies approved at the convention: Sergeant Machado (no party) for vice-governor; Neidinha Suruí (PSB) and Rosangela Cipriano (PSB) for the Senate. During the officialization of his candidacy, Samuel Costa thanked him for the opportunity, for the welcome of those he called "brothers and sisters of the PSB" and highlighted the aspects that, according to him, strengthen his candidacy. "With more muscle, with a directory and with our activism, I am absolutely sure, full conviction, that at the right time we will win the hearts and minds of the people of Rondônia, presenting innovative proposals that can minimize the suffering of our people", he highlighted. Convention calendar Conventions are events in which party members meet to choose candidates in elections. The deadline is August 5th. Next, the names must be registered with the Superior Court (TSE) by August 15th. The election campaign officially begins the following day. In this year's elections, on October 4th, Brazilians will vote for: president; governor; Senate (two seats per state); federal deputy; state deputy; district deputy (only in the DF text). Samuel Costa's career Samuel Costa was born in Porto Velho, is 34 years old and is the father of two children. He is a lawyer, journalist and professor, specializing in Political Science. He contested the majority elections for the City Hall of the capital of Rondônia in the 2020 and 2024 elections, but was not elected. In the 2024 municipal elections, he ran for the Rede Sustentabilidade party. Samuel Costa joined the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) on April 4, 2026, during an event held at the headquarters of the party's state directory, in Porto Velho, with the presence of supporters, leaders and other pre-candidates of the party.
