According to Prolagos, fraud in the water supply was discovered, and the Civil Police was called to carry out the investigation and adopt the appropriate measures. The dealership also reported that the establishment had outstanding debts. According to Prolagos Inspection Coordinator, André Bastos, fraud harms the functioning of the system and affects the supply of consumers who use the service regularly. "Clandestine connections and fraud in water meters compromise the balance of the supply system, harming customers who use the service regularly because they cause a reduction in network pressure, especially during periods of higher consumption. Inspections are carried out continuously to identify these irregularities and ensure that water reaches quality water to all residents of our concession area", he stated. The concessionaire highlighted that water theft is a crime provided for in article 155 of the Penal Code and that this type of irregularity also increases the risk of water contamination and leaks, potentially compromising the infrastructure of the supply system. Prolagos reported that it maintains a permanent inspection schedule in partnership with Inea and the security forces. Complaints can be made anonymously through the dealership's service channels, by phone and WhatsApp, on 0800 7020 195, or via the company's website.
