Plane returns to Manaus airport after technical problem and scares passengers. Reproduction An aircraft that took off from Manaus bound for Borba, in the interior of Amazonas, had to return to Eduardo Gomes International Airport on Thursday afternoon (6) after presenting a technical problem during the flight. The landing occurred safely and no one was injured. According to passenger reports, around eight to ten minutes after takeoff, a strong smell of fuel began to be felt inside the cabin. The odor would have caused discomfort among the aircraft's occupants. According to the passengers, the pilot informed them that it would be necessary to return to Manaus. During the landing approach, the aircraft flew over the region close to the Rio Negro Bridge for a few minutes, which increased the apprehension of those on board. ? After disembarking, according to the report, the crew reported that the aircraft had a problem with the flaps, devices installed on the wings that help control the aircraft during landing and allow it to safely reduce speed. According to passengers, the crew explained that, due to the problem, it would not be possible to make a safe landing in Borba, as the municipality's airport has a smaller runway. For this reason, the decision was to return to Manaus, where the runway offers greater distance for the aircraft to brake. Despite the scare, the plane landed normally at Eduardo Gomes International Airport, and all passengers disembarked without injuries. g1 contacted Rico Linhas Aéreas to clarify what happened, but did not receive a response until the last update of this report.
