Pet shop owner is arrested on suspicion of selling prohibited pesticides and 'chumbinho' in Bauru The owner of a pet shop was arrested on Monday afternoon (6), suspected of selling and storing pesticides irregularly, in Bauru (SP). The action was carried out by the General Investigations Sector (SIG) of the Judiciary Police Center (CPJ) of Bauru after complaints indicated that the store, located in Vila Industrial, was selling prohibited products. ? During the inspection, investigators also located a plastic bottle containing a substance similar to "chumbinho". According to the police, in addition to the bottle, which had part of its contents, a small jar of the product already prepared for sale was also found. To the police, the man stated that he only sold the products to some customers, such as farm owners. He also reported that he diluted Regent in water to apply to dogs during bathing and grooming, with the aim of combating fleas and ticks. He was arrested in the act based on the Pesticides Law. The legislation provides for a penalty of 3 to 9 years in prison, in addition to a fine, for anyone who sells or stores these products without authorization from the competent bodies. After registering the incident, the man was taken to the Public Prison of Avaí (SP), where he remains at the disposal of the Justice Department.
