The population can collaborate with notifications about situations on the roads Regiane Rocha/Prefeitura de Palmas Anyone who drives on the streets of Palmas will have access to real-time information about closures, blockages and other events on the roads through the Waze application. The city hall will now insert data into the application about planned closures that impact the flow of vehicles in the capital. The news was announced after the Municipal Department of Mobility and Public Transport (Semobt) joined the international Waze Partnership program, which integrates the municipality's traffic engineering data into the navigation platform. The integration will allow the secretariat to record blockages related to sporting and civic events and infrastructure works on city avenues directly on the application map. ? In addition to official communications, the population will also be able to contribute to street monitoring. Through the application, users will be able to send alerts and reports about situations that affect traffic, such as holes in the asphalt, dangerous deformations in the road, objects or debris on the road, branches, fallen loads, traffic jams, inoperative traffic lights and traffic accidents, with or without victims. Semobt reported that Waze is free and available for download on iOS and Android systems. The city hall's adherence to the program does not generate costs for the municipality and is part of the technological modernization plan for Palmas as a Smart City.
