Starting this Friday (10), the beaches of Palmas will host the Palmas Férias 2026 program, with shows, sporting activities, leisure, gastronomy and cultural attractions. The event continues until August 1st and will be held on the beaches of Graciosa, Arnos, Caju and Buritis. The official opening takes place at 6pm, at Praia da Graciosa, with a performance by the Banda da Guarda Metropolitana de Palmas. Click here to follow the g1 TO channel on WhatsApp Throughout the season, residents and tourists will have access to a free program with musical shows, a gastronomic circuit with food trucks, a kite festival, a street race, an exhibition of vintage cars and motorcycles, dance classes and a gastronomic route with partner restaurants. Praia dos Buritis will host sports tournaments, while the beaches of Graciosa, Arnos and Caju are home to musical, recreational and leisure attractions. The sports program will be coordinated by the Municipal Department of Youth and Sports. According to Palmas City Hall, the program was prepared in conjunction with the trade associations of each beach, with the aim of attracting visitors, boosting the local economy and enhancing the capital's urban beaches during the holiday period. Guidelines for bathers To reinforce the safety of beachgoers, the city hall informed that it will install new signage on the capital's beaches, following guidelines from the Tocantins Military Fire Department. Recommendations include respecting the designated bathing area, avoiding entering the water after consuming alcoholic beverages or heavy meals and paying constant attention to children. There are also guidelines related to the presence of piranhas and stingrays. The recommendation is not to enter the water with injuries, not to discard food waste in the lake, to dispose of trash correctly and to preserve the protective screens installed on the beaches.
