The first stage involves the start of outpatient care, such as consultations with specialists. Next, the dialysis equipment will be transferred.

According to the municipality, Nefro-PG provided around 8,800 services per month. With the new structure, the installed capacity could reach 12,600 monthly visits, including consultations, exams, treatments and procedures. The unit serves residents of Praia Grande and patients from neighboring municipalities referred by the Computerized Regulation System of the State of São Paulo (SIRESP). Hemodialysis is regulated by the State Government and patients from all over Baixada Santista can be served. The new Nefro-PG has a double-step reverse osmosis system for treating water used in hemodialysis, a technology considered one of the most advanced for this type of procedure. Disclosure/City Hall of Praia Grande Tecnologia One of the highlights of the new headquarters is the Water Treatment and Distribution System for Hemodialysis (STDAH), equipped with double-step reverse osmosis. According to the coordinator of the Nefro-PG medical team, Francisco de Castro, the technology allows the water used in treatment to go through two stages of purification, reaching a level of quality comparable to that of water used in the preparation of injectable medicines. "The water we will use for dialysis treatment is the same water we would use to inject medication into a patient's vein," he said, in a statement released by the city hall. For Mayor Alberto Mourão (MDB), the delivery represents an advance in the quality of care provided to patients. "It's not just a new building and an expansion of the service, it's more than that, it's improving the quality of the service, with more comfort for the user who comes daily for hemodialysis", he added. The ceremony brought together Mayor Alberto Mourão, First Lady Dona Maruca, municipal secretaries, councilors and representatives from the health sector. Disclosure/City Hall of Praia Grande Structure The new headquarters has 1,368 square meters of built area, distributed over three air-conditioned floors, in addition to photovoltaic panels to capture solar energy. The ground floor has reception, offices, procedure room, nursing station, emergency recovery room, room exclusively for dialysis that requires isolation and four bathrooms. The second floor is intended for hemodialysis sessions and includes a nursing station and office, two bathrooms and a waiting room for companions.
