After receiving the necessary care, it must be returned to its natural habitat. On July 2, a record considered rare drew attention to the region's biodiversity. During a physical activity, around 6am, INEA ranger Pedro Paulo filmed a couple of maned wolves on Estrada de Santana, in an area located in the buffer zone of the Médio Paraíba Wildlife Refuge. According to Valença City Hall, the two cases highlight the municipality's environmental wealth and reinforce that the preservation of fauna is a collective responsibility. The guideline is that wild animals are not taken from the wild or kept in captivity. In cases of injured animals or animals at risk, the recommendation is to contact environmental agencies so that the rescue can be carried out safely.
