At the end of May, motorcyclist Eduardo Souza da Silva, aged 40, died after being run over by a trailer. Daniel Ramos/Rede Amazônica Manaus recorded 191 hospital visits related to traffic accidents and other incidents between Saturday (4) and Sunday (5), according to data from the Hospital Management Systems of the State Department of Health of Amazonas (SES-AM). Motorcycle accidents accounted for most of the cases, with 139 cases attended, equivalent to around 73% of the total. On Saturday, 79 calls were recorded. On Sunday, the number rose to 112. Motorcycle accidents led the occurrences on both days, with 56 cases on Saturday and 83 on Sunday. There were 15 accidents involving cars, six on Saturday and nine on Sunday. ? Join the g1 AM channel on WhatsApp Four pedestrian accidents were also recorded, two each day. Another 33 people were admitted to health units for incidents classified as "other reasons".

The biggest movement in hospital units occurred at 4pm on Saturday, when nine visits were recorded. On Sunday, the peak was at 10pm, with 13 patients seen in a single hour. The Platão Araújo Hospital and Emergency Room (HPS) had the highest number of visits during the weekend, with 79 entries. Next come the João Lúcio Hospital and Emergency Room, with 38 patients, and the 28 de Agosto Hospital and Emergency Room, with 38 visits. The remaining cases were distributed among Emergency Care Services (SPAs), Emergency Care Units (UPAs) and other units in the state network. Traffic deaths In addition to hospital care, the Integrated Security Operations Center (Ciops) recorded eight deaths related to traffic accidents between Saturday (4) and this Monday (6). Six of the victims died in Manaus, one in Iranduba and another in Manacapuru. In Manaus, six deaths were recorded. Among them, a motorcyclist who died after losing control of the motorcycle on Avenida Coronel Teixeira, in Ponta Negra; that of a six-year-old child, victim of a collision on Avenida Cosme Ferreira, in Coroado; and that of a motorcyclist who died after being hit by a car on Avenida Max Teixeira, in Cidade Nova. A 17-year-old teenager also died, victim of an accident on Avenida Cristian, in Novo Israel; a man who succumbed to injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash that occurred at the end of June, on Avenida Autaz Mirim; and another man, not yet identified, victim of an accident on Avenida Lourenço da Silva Braga, in the Center. The other records were of a still unidentified man, killed in an accident on the AM-070 highway, in Iranduba, and a 23-year-old young man who died after a traffic accident in Manacapuru. According to Ciops, he was rescued, but did not survive his injuries.
