The popular jury took place last Wednesday (15) in the district of Bom Despacho. The court also ordered the payment of R$20,000 in compensation for moral damages to the victim's family and decreed the definitive loss of family power over the daughter the two had together. Ralfe Cordeiro's defense, represented by lawyer Laís Vidal Cardoso Gontijo, informed g1 that he has already filed an appeal against the conviction. ? According to the lawyer, during the trial the theory of homicide privileged by violent emotion after unfair provocation by the victim was supported. As stated in the sentence, the victim had damaged the defendant's car and attacked him with a broomstick. The defense also sought to remove the qualifier of feminicide. According to the lawyer, the appeal will deal with issues that occurred during the jury plenary session which, in her opinion, should be re-examined by higher courts. At the end of the trial, Luana stated that the conviction brought a feeling of relief to the victim's family. The night before the crime, they started an argument that lasted until dawn. Then, according to the prosecution, the man attacked the victim and killed him by asphyxiation. After the crime, while his daughter slept in another room in the house, Ralfe wrapped the young woman's body in a quilt and left the property. The criminal investigation also pointed out that he even asked for a ride via app to leave the place. The convict, who at the time worked in a pharmacy in the city, was not located immediately and only presented himself to the police when the period of arrest had ended.
