Man is arrested for tying dog's snout with tape in Maceió A 47-year-old man was arrested red-handed on Tuesday night (30), suspected of mistreating a dog by tying the animal's snout with insulating tape. The man was taken to Central de Flagrantes and charged with animal abuse. The dog was collected and sent to the Maceió Zoonosis Control Center. Penalty for the crime Aspiring Leonardo de Oliveira, operations officer at BPA, explained to g1 that the crime of mistreating dogs and cats carries a penalty of two to five years in prison, in addition to a fine. According to the officer, in the first half of this year alone, the battalion responded to 240 incidents of this type in Alagoas.
