Man is arrested on suspicion of counterfeiting alcoholic drinks in a 'factory' inside a house in Hortolândia Disclosure/Civil Police A 27-year-old man was arrested red-handed this Tuesday (7) on suspicion of counterfeiting alcoholic drinks in a clandestine factory in the Chácara do Recreio neighborhood, in Hortolândia (SP). Counterfeiting equipment and bottles with well-known brand labels were seized. The location was found through investigations by the Civil Police. The operation, which had the support of the Brazilian Drinks Association (Abrabe), took place after the Court issued a search and seizure warrant. The "factory", according to the police, operated inside a six-room residential property on Rua Uirapuru. There was equipment used for forgery scattered throughout the house. ? Click here to follow the g1 Campinas channel on WhatsApp During the searches, Abrabe issued a report certifying that the products found in the residence were fake — see the balance of seizures below: 18 bottles of drinks with seals from well-known brands; approximately 400 empty bottles ready for filling; four gallons of essence and five gallons of ethyl substance; 24 bottles of liquid essence and a packet of powder dye; hundreds of plastic lids, packaging, boxes, labels and seals; three cell phones; notebook. The case was registered in the 11th Police District of Campinas. The suspect will be charged with counterfeiting a substance or product intended for consumption and a crime against industrial property. The seized materials will be stored by Abrabe. Six-year-old son was in the house The suspect's partner and six-year-old son were also in the property. The woman reported that she had lived there for around eight months, but stated that she had no involvement in the manufacture or adulteration of alcoholic beverages. The suspect had already been investigated for a crime of the same nature in 2023.
