According to witnesses, the attacks began on Friday morning (17). The animal would have been attacked on at least two occasions. Initially, it was tied to a tree. During the afternoon, the man attacked the dog again with sticks.

According to the investigation, it was after these attacks that the suspect lit a fire and threw the dog into the flames, which died on the spot. Deputy Artur Andrade, responsible for the investigation, stated that the man continued the attacks until the dog could no longer walk. "The individual began to strike his own dog with a piece of wood. Not satisfied with having previously attacked the dog, he continued the attacks until the dog could no longer walk. He lit a fire and threw the dog, still alive, into the flames," said the delegate. According to delegate Artur Andrade, the farmer had already been charged with threats, domestic violence and bodily harm against other people. The man remains in prison and awaits a custody hearing.
