Italva and Cachoeiras de Macacu host meetings on agroecology Disclosure The cities of Italva, in the Northwest of Rio de Janeiro, and Cachoeiras de Macacu, in the Serrana region of Rio, will host, starting this Wednesday (8), a series of meetings to discuss the strengthening of agroecology, organic production, family farming and artisanal fishing. The Regional Dialogues and Connections – Agroecology and Organic Production are promoted by the State Secretariat for Regional Development of the Interior, Fisheries and Family Agriculture (Sedipaf) and mark the beginning of the review of the State Plan for Sustainable Rural Development of Agroecology and Organic Production (Pleapo), a document that guides public policies for the sector. The program will bring together family farmers, artisanal fishermen, indigenous peoples, traditional communities, researchers and representatives of public bodies and civil society to debate proposals aimed at sustainable food production, income generation in the countryside and combating climate change. ?
