H.FOA receives a group of hernia surgeries in Volta Redonda. Disclosure/ Volta Redonda (RJ) hosts the 3rd edition of the collective effort for hernia surgeries for patients in the Unified Health System (SUS). The initiative takes place between the 6th and 10th of July at H.FOA, the Oswaldo Aranha Foundation Hospital. The action has the support of the Brazilian Society of Hernia and Abdominal Wall (SBH). According to the organization, the objective of the joint effort is to serve around 20 SUS patients. All surgeons participating in the action are volunteers. According to the organization, patients will be operated on using robotic surgery. They are all residents of the city and are part of the unit's abdominal wall clinic. The pre-operative processes and examinations were also carried out at the hospital. The first stage was carried out in Recife (PE) and combined different surgical modalities. Volta Redonda receives the second stage focusing on robotic surgeries. What is a hernia? What is it?
