Holidays: SP parks have trails, bird watching, caves and free activities

Among the highlights is a camp at the Angatuba Ecological Station, in the interior of São Paulo. The activity offers an experience of immersion in nature, with observation of fauna and the night sky. Other units promote hiking in stretches of the Atlantic Forest, workshops to identify the footprints of wild animals, bird watching with environmental monitors, planting seedlings and visits to waterfalls and caves. According to Fundação Florestal, each unit offers a different experience, with activities aimed at both adventure seekers and families interested in outdoor trips during the holiday period. The program also reinforces the importance of conservation units for protecting biodiversity, water resources and ecosystems in the state. In the capital and Greater São Paulo, the Cantareira State Park (Núcleo Cabuçu), the Jaraguá State Park, the Juquery State Park, the Águas da Billings State Park and the Curucutu Center of the Serra do Mar State Park participate, with trails, bird watching and environmental education activities. In Baixada Santista, the program takes place in the Xixová-Japuí State Park, in Restinga de Bertioga, in Núcleo Bertioga da Serra do Mar and in APA Marinha do Litoral Centro, bringing together tours in restinga areas, Atlantic Forest and preserved beaches. On the North Coast and in the Paraíba Valley, activities take place in the Ilhabela State Park and in the Caraguatatuba and Santa Virgínia da Serra do Mar centers, with emphasis on trails and waterfalls. The Ribeira Valley concentrates some of the main attractions, such as Caverna do Diabo State Park, Intervales, Rio Turvo, Lagamar de Cananéia, Ilha do Cardoso and Campina do Encantado. The region brings together caves, beaches, waterfalls and one of the largest continuous areas of Atlantic Forest in the country. In the Sorocaba region, the Angatuba Ecological Station, the Jurupará State Park and the Nascentes do Paranapanema State Park participate. In the regions of Campinas, Piracicaba, Limeira and Rio Claro, the program takes place in the Edmundo Navarro de Andrade State Forest and at the Itirapina Ecological Station. In the central and northeastern interior of São Paulo, the Jataí Ecological Station, the Mogi-Guaçu Ecological Station, the Caetetus Ecological Station, the Porto Ferreira State Park and the Furnas do Bom Jesus State Park are included. In the northwest of the state, the Aguapeí and Rio do Peixe state parks participate, in addition to the Noroeste Paulista State Forest. In the west of São Paulo, Morro do Diabo State Park offers activities in one of the main conservation areas for the black lion tamarin.
