The victim tried to control the flames, but, by handling the cylinder inappropriately, caused the explosion, according to the corporation. Upon impact, the fire spread quickly and mainly affected the living room and kitchen of the residence. The man suffered burns to his arms and neck. According to firefighters, he also suffered burns to his airways after inhaling hot air during the fire. The victim received first aid at the scene and was taken, conscious and walking, to the Campina Grande Emergency and Trauma Hospital. In a note to g1, the hospital unit reported that the man received medical attention and was discharged early this Wednesday afternoon.
