Grupo Chocolate talks about the success 'Alô Virginia' Rocked by the success of "Alô Virgínia", Grupo Chocolate is preparing to experience one of the most important moments in its career: its first international tour. The debut in Europe takes place in Portugal, with presentations scheduled for August 15th, in Porto, and August 16th, in Lisbon. ? They already had listeners spread across Brazil, but it was with "Alô Virginia" that everything changed. Who is Grupo Chocolate, a pagode band that made Brazil smell like Vanilla with a viral hit? The invitation to the shows in Europe came after the repercussion of the music in the European country. The track reached second place among Spotify's viral songs in Portugal, repeating the mark achieved in Brazil. The performance also placed the song among the five most popular on the global Viral Songs playlist. Currently, Grupo Chocolate has 1.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, while "Alô Virgínia" has already accumulated more than 71 million reproductions on the platform. For Gabriel, the group's lead singer, the trip represents an achievement built over the last few years. "It's a big milestone in our history. We want to reconnect with those who already follow our work in Portugal, but also win over new audiences", he comments. In its repertoire, the group promises to deliver a mix of hits from the group's history, new songs and reinterpretations presented in the audiovisual project "Canta, Chocolate!". The idea is to bring together, in a single presentation, different phases of the musical identity built by the band since its creation. Furthermore, among the projects under discussion is the possibility of a musical partnership with a Portuguese artist. The issue of Virginia herself, who we admire a lot, the issue of the melody”, recalls Gabriel. They even invited none other than Turma do Pagode to perform. The clip was produced during a special recording of the group's new DVD, held at a party and event venue in Porto Alegre. "Above all, we are big fans and they are a reference for us", says Luiz, explaining that our friendship with the group from São Paulo began a few years ago and grew little by little. The meeting with Virginia was so successful that it took the four of them to São Paulo, where they surprised Virginia on the influencer's television show. "She was very surprised, very happy, she welcomed us very well, did the choreography, danced with us. It was wonderful", says Gabriel. Since then, Virginia has posted the song a few times on social media: "We're very happy that, above all, she liked it, it's not a forced thing", guarantees Luiz. "Now, the smell of Brazil is Body Splash Vanilla", jokes Luiz. The love for RS From RS to the world, Grupo Chocolate wants to transform the viral on the road: "Brazil was already listening to us, and now it's listening to us more. What we want to do are shows in all the states of Brazil, that's what we're aiming for. This search is already happening, so it's just a matter of time for us to reach these states, these cities that are sending us messages with great affection, congratulating us", explains Gabriel. Even with invitations to shows elsewhere, the quartet makes a point of remembering where it came from. The group carries Porto Alegre in its heart and repertoire. “Porto Alegre and Rio Grande do Sul is our world, our home”, summarizes Gabriel, referring to the name of the new DVD album, called "Do Nosso Mundo".
