Former secretary of works of São Valério is suspected of killing a man over debts Former secretary of works of São Valério Divino Duarte, aged 35, presented himself to the police this Wednesday (7) in Gurupi, in the south of the state. Divino had an arrest warrant issued by the courts on suspicion of murdering electrician Wilson Hermes Almeida Rocha, in 2025. According to the police, the murder took place on November 12, at a gas station in São Valério. Wilson Hermes, 28 years old, was shot in the head. He was rescued by a team from the municipal hospital, but died while traveling to Gurupi. ? According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP-TO), after appearing accompanied by a lawyer and going through legal procedures, he was taken to the Gurupi Prison Unit, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice Department. The SSP also informed that the police investigation into the crime has already been concluded and forwarded to the Judiciary and the Public Ministry. Divino is being investigated for firing the shot that killed Wilson, after a disagreement related to a debt owed by a consortium made between friends. At the time, witnesses told the police that the victim and the former secretary had had a disagreement the night before the crime, when Wilson allegedly crashed a truck into the gate of Divino's house. The following day, the two met at the gas station, where there was a new argument, and the shot was fired.
