The two had been at odds for some time over a dispute over customers and, this morning, the argument escalated into aggression. According to witnesses, the car driver went to the vehicle, grabbed a machete and tried to attack the motorcycle taxi driver. The victim tried to defend himself using the helmet, but suffered a cut on his hand. During the confusion, the attacker himself was also injured. Upon noticing the situation, one of the police officers fired a warning shot into the air, causing those involved to stop the attacks. The machete used in the incident was seized by the military. The two men were taken to the Agreste Emergency Hospital (HEA), where they received medical care. According to preliminary information, they suffered minor injuries. After being treated, those involved were taken to the Arapiraca Police Center to register the incident. Both of their vehicles remained at the gas station.
