Festa do Peão de Barretos launches riding program The Festa do Peão de Barretos will have more than 50 shows in 2026 and should maintain country music as the main axis of the program, but with focus on other genres to attract different audiences to Parque do Peão. According to Pedro Muzetti, cultural director of the event, the schedule is almost closed. The 71st edition will be held from August 20th to 30th, in Barretos (SP). "It is 99% closed. We are very happy with the response. Now we have to wait for August 20th to start the party", he stated. According to Pedro, the last general attraction that needed to be announced was Barretão Elétrico. The specific camping schedule, however, is yet to be announced in the coming days. "As there are so many shows, there are more than 50 shows that we have to book during the 11 days of the party. We try to please everyone and, sometimes, risk another musical genre to bring people who might not come to Barretos", he said. According to the director, the idea is to expand the reach of the party without distorting the program. He stated that, even on days with attractions of other styles, the public should find country shows in other spaces in the park. "Sometimes we can't please 100%, but 90% are country people. So, if people don't want to watch the pagode, just go to the stadium and there will definitely be country music playing", he stated. According to Pedro Muzetti, the organization is preparing special projects for the space, as well as exclusive shows for those staying at Parque do Peão. The program has not yet been released, but there should be artists hired only for the campsite, with no performance on other stages of the party. "There are some artists who are going to do special shows there. We are finishing the format and should release it in the next few days", he said. According to the director, the decision is part of a larger investment in the space. The campsite welcomes people who stay in the park for several days and experience the party full time. No religious attraction in 2026 The Festa do Peão will not have a religious show on Monday in 2026. The date had been used in previous editions for presentations by artists or religious leaders. According to Pedro Muzetti, the organization tried to keep this type of attraction on the schedule, but was unable to close a presentation for this year. "No. We tried to bring another show back, but we couldn't. We're already talking about next year," he said.
