The event, held over three days at the municipality's Exhibition Park, brought together workshops, lectures and activities aimed at strengthening family farming and livestock farming. The program focused on training producers, farmers and ranchers, with the presentation of methodologies, technologies and practices aimed at developing the local primary sector. According to the municipal secretary of Production and Supply, Kenedy Andrade, the fair seeks to strengthen the work carried out by rural producers. "It aims to train and enhance rural producers in their daily field activities. We are offering training courses that will help and contribute greatly to these activities", he explained. The program also brought scientific production closer to the farmers' reality. The professor of Animal Science at the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam), Michel do Vale Maciel, presented research on the use of cassava and tucumã byproducts in dairy cattle feed. "The idea is to bring to the region the knowledge that the university has been producing, using cassava and tucumã byproducts to feed dairy cattle, in addition to taking the demands of producers to the university", he stated. During the event, Barreirinha City Hall also handed over the Municipal Inspection Service (SIM) registration to the dairy in the Terra Preta do Limão community, in the rural area of ??the municipality. The document allows products to be sold within the municipality, following health standards. For farmer Francisco Baraúna, certification represents recognition of the work carried out by producers in the community. "It means an appreciation for the rural producer. Today we came to represent the Terra Preta do Limão group and we received the YES for our dream dairy", he celebrated.
