During this period, Diogo would have prescribed medications, requested tests and made referrals using data from another doctor. The child has grade IV medulloblastoma. According to the police, prescriptions made by an unlicensed person could put their health at risk. The girl's mother became suspicious after identifying inconsistencies in the prescriptions. When consulting the registry of the Regional Council of Medicine, she found that the photograph linked to the CRM presented did not correspond to the man who provided the services. The family contacted the police station, which sent police officers to the residence. Diogo was approached at the end of another appointment. According to investigators, an agent called “Dr. Jeferson”, and the suspect responded. With him, the police seized a stamp and special control prescriptions in the name of Jefferson Targino Sampaio, as well as documents stamped in the name of another doctor and prescription pads. Diogo was charged with illegal practice of medicine for profit, use of a false private document, false identity, attempted fraud and danger to the life or health of another person. The police station asked the court to convert the arrest into preventative arrest. The Civil Police reported that he also appears as the author in four other procedures related to ideological falsehood, theft and embezzlement. Investigators are investigating whether other people were treated by Diogo while he presented himself as a doctor.
