Explosive device found in school in the East Zone of Manaus and deactivated by the PM An explosive device was found this Thursday morning (16) inside the Armando de Souza Mendes Municipal School, in the São José neighborhood, East Zone of Manaus. The material was deactivated by the Explosive Artifact Management Group (Mars), of the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM). The Grupo Marte team was called at around 5:30 am by the Integrated Security Operations Center (Ciops) after locating a suspicious object inside the teaching unit, located on Rua Barreirinha, corner of Rua Heráclito. Upon arriving at the scene, the police confirmed that the object was an explosive device. The area was isolated and security measures were adopted to protect the team and people nearby. ? According to the Military Police, after the intervention of Grupo Marte, the device was deactivated. The remains were collected for reporting and subsequent analysis.
