Elderly man dies after being run over in Curitiba A 75-year-old man died after being run over on the sidewalk, late this Wednesday afternoon (8), on Rua Francisco Derosso, in the Boqueirão neighborhood, in Curitiba. Another person who was on the sidewalk is not hit by a few centimeters. The car hits other vehicles that were stopped, crosses the busy street and stops only after hitting the wall. The victim succumbed to his injuries and died before the rescue team arrived. The 41-year-old driver took a breathalyzer test, which did not indicate alcohol consumption. She had minor injuries and was taken to an Emergency Care Unit (UPA). After receiving medical attention, she must be taken to the Traffic Offenses Police Station. According to Lieutenant Guimarães, from the Traffic Police Battalion, the driver reported having had a sudden illness. "Information that she ended up having a sudden illness, she had a blackout, according to the driver herself. She was disoriented, didn't know what had happened and, in fact, was only aware that she had hit two vehicles. Until that moment, she didn't know that she had a victim of being run over", detailed the lieutenant.
