According to TV Cabo Branco's investigation at the scene, the car was dragged for around 50 meters after the collision. CBTU also reported that rail traffic between João Pessoa and Santa Rita remained suspended until the vehicle was removed, which remained on the tracks waiting for a tow. After the accident, the train returned to Santa Rita. The driver suffered bruises and was taken to the João Pessoa Emergency and Trauma Hospital by the Mobile Emergency Care Service.
