Driver dies in serious accident on the Presidente Dutra Highway, in Santa Isabel A driver died after a head-on collision between a car and a bus in the early hours of this Monday (6), on the Presidente Dutra Highway (BR-116), in Santa Isabel. The accident happened at km 193, towards Rio de Janeiro. At around 7:45 am, CCR Rio SP, responsible for the road, reported that lane 1 and the shoulder remain closed to deal with the incident, with 4 km of congestion recorded. ? The driver of the car was trapped in the wreckage and died at the scene. According to the PRF, the bus was carrying 26 passengers and all were unharmed. The CCR RioSP concessionaire reported that three passengers were treated by company teams with minor injuries. CCR RioSP reported that the Operational Control Center was called at 2:56 am to respond to the incident at km 193. The PRF was called at around 3:40 am. According to the concessionaire, one of the lanes was reopened at 5:13 am. The PRF reported that congestion reached 2 kilometers, while CCR RioSP recorded a 5-kilometer queue on the stretch. On the night of June 30, the 71-year-old bus driver died after the vehicle hit the back of a trailer, at km 185.5, on the road towards São Paulo.
