According to Luana, the disappearance drew attention on Friday (10), when the two did not show up for app delivery work. Unable to contact them and with their cell phones turned off, the family went to the police to register the case. Day of disappearance Luana explained that she lived with the couple and followed their last steps. That day, she, her older sister, Ieda and Fabiana had lunch together. Then, the couple and the older sister went to a friend's house, where they stayed until around 11pm. After the older sister left with her young son, Ieda and Fabiana announced that they would leave to "sort out some things", without providing further details. The last messages were received by the couple at 11:37 pm, as recorded on the app. After that time, the phones stopped receiving calls. Witnesses told family members that they last saw the couple in the Samarita neighborhood, in São Vicente, that night.
