According to the show's director, Cátia Costa, the purpose of the production is to use the language of samba and performance to promote reflection on the experiences of the black population. "The main idea of ??the montage is, through samba, musicality, body, dance, singing, movement, rhythm and breathing, to introduce a poetic discussion about the resilience that drags our black bodies towards a statistic already predicted and programmed for death and marginality. Resignify our everyday tragedies through the joy and pain of samba, without romanticizing", he states. The play was produced with the sponsorship of the Best Scene award at FESTU 2023 (University Theater Festival). The Gozo-Pranto Collective is made up of actresses and theater students who continue the research and circulation work that began with the sketch “Sambas em Notas de Gozo-Pranto”, highlighted in the last edition of the festival.
