The mansion is part of the Architectural and Landscaping Complex of the Cidade Velha and Campina neighborhoods, protected as Brazilian cultural heritage. According to the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan), the property underwent an inspection in March this year and showed no cracks or signs of risk of collapse. The agency also reported that, since 2019, it has maintained a mapping of abandoned properties or those with visual signs of risk in protected areas of Belém. Around 108 properties were identified in this situation, of which approximately 18% underwent emergency actions after negotiations with the owners. Circulation in the area is prohibited. Civil Defense isolated the block and closed traffic on streets in the area. A company hired by the property owner carries out the shoring of the structure, but there is still no plan for the roads to be cleared. Belém City Hall is monitoring the case together with the Fire Department and Iphan. Equatorial Pará was called to repair the electrical wiring damaged by the fall.
