Coffee harvest in Silves Disclosure Family farmers from Silves, in the interior of Amazonas, started the second harvest of Robusta coffee grown in an agroforestry system. The expectation is to harvest 14 tons of grain this season, with the potential to generate more than R$220,000 in the local economy. Coffee is produced in degraded areas, without the need for deforestation. The model allows soil recovery, keeps native trees preserved and generates income for families in the region. In the first harvest, in 2025, producers harvested 160 bags of coffee, equivalent to around 9.6 tons, in an area of ??eight hectares. With the results, the project was expanded to 11 hectares and currently benefits ten families. ? In addition to assistance with cultivation, farmers receive guidance on sustainable management, fertilization and marketing of production, with the aim of expanding access to the regional market. "We believe that sustainable development happens when communities find economic opportunities compatible with the reality of the Amazon. More than supporting production, we seek to help farmers have access to the market and build a lasting source of income", says Elizabeth Teles, Social Responsibility Manager at Eneva. According to the organizers, the project also helps keep families in the countryside and encourages young people to participate in family farming through the bioeconomy.
