The City of Jacareí obtained authorization from the Government of the State of São Paulo to use an area of ??250 thousand square meters, located on the land of Centro Paula Souza, in Jacareí. The initiative was made possible following a request from the municipality, which envisages the creation of a large public environmental park, providing a new leisure alternative and quality of life for the population. The project, led by the Secretariat of Environment and Urban Planning, foresees that, in addition to the creation of the park, the area will include the installation of an innovation center and other public equipment. The completion of studies and the basic project is scheduled for 2027. Afterwards, the environmental and urban licensing processes will begin. Afterwards, the municipality begins the opening of tenders for contracting the construction. Jacareí City Hall Disclosure In practice, the area provided by the state government is almost six times larger than the City Park. The use will not impact the activities of ETEC and FATEC, whose facilities are on the same land. There will also be no deforestation of native vegetation cover. The expectation is that the site will be opened to the population in 2028. Initially, the use grant is valid for a period of 20 years. There are no costs involved for the municipal administration.
