Castration Cart will be in Araraquara from July 23rd to 26th

Araraquara will receive, between the 23rd and 26th of July, the Carreta de Castração, an initiative by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change carried out with the support of the City Hall. The vehicle will offer free neutering for dogs and cats, and will be at CEU das Artes, located at Avenida Cabo PM Benedito Vieira de Góes, 340, in Jardim São Rafael. To participate in the action, it is mandatory that those responsible for the animals register in advance on SinPatinhas - National Domestic Animal Registration System, a platform of the Ministry of the Environment. Registration must be done via the website https://sinpatinhas.mma.gov.br, using the Gov.br login. Only after carrying out this procedure will it be possible to participate in the castration effort. General guidance for tutors on the procedure is available at the registration link. However, brachycephalic animals, such as pug, bulldog and shih-tzu, puppies under six months of age and animals over eight years of age will not be subjected to castration. The initiative, which is expected to benefit around 1,200 animals over the four days of service, aims to promote the well-being of dogs and cats, contribute to public health through population control and encourage responsible pet ownership. "Neutering is a safe measure that, in addition to helping to control the population of dogs and cats and reducing cases of abandonment, contributes to the prevention of various diseases, especially those that affect the reproductive system. The procedure can also minimize situations such as escapes, aggression and other behavioral changes, favoring the animals' quality of life", highlights the veterinarian and municipal undersecretary for Animal Welfare, Giovanna Magalhães.
