Castramais RJ in Cabo Frio Archive/Mari Ricci/Cogecom The Castra Mais RJ project will offer free castrations for dogs and cats in Cabo Frio, in the Lakes Region of Rio, between the 13th and 24th of July. During the period, the castrammobile will be installed at the Multisport Gymnasium in the Santo Antônio neighborhood, in Tamoios, carrying out the procedures through prior registration and scheduling for interested guardians. The service will be provided by prior appointment. To guarantee a place, owners need to register their animals in the Federal Government's National Domestic Animal Registration System (SinPatinhas). After this step, it is also necessary to register on the official website of the Castra Mais RJ project. ? Follow the g1 Região dos Lagos channel on WhatsApp.

According to the organization, Castramóvel has the capacity to serve around 300 animals per day. The guideline is that those responsible should only register if they are sure that they will be able to attend on the scheduled date and time, preventing spaces from being used. Castrations are intended for dogs and cats of any breed or size. Animals must be between 6 months and 7 years old, in good health and fasting for eight hours before the procedure. Females in heat, pregnant or breastfeeding cannot undergo surgery. In addition to castration, the animals treated will receive microchipping and the necessary medications for the post-operative period. According to the municipal superintendent of Animal Protection, Fenela Assed, after the stage in Tamoios, the project should also serve the Jardim Esperança neighborhood, on a date that has yet to be announced. "The first edition was very well received by the population and reinforced the importance of castration for animal health and well-being. Furthermore, superintendent Fenela Assed recalled that registration with SinPatinhas is mandatory to participate in the program," highlighted the superintendent. Castration is considered one of the main measures to prevent diseases, improve the quality of life of animals and contribute to population control of dogs and cats. The initiative also helps, in the long term, to reduce the number of animals abandoned on the streets. More information about the project can be obtained on the official Castra Mais RJ website or via WhatsApp (21) 97101-0504.
