The case happened on the road towards São Paulo, around 9:30 pm. According to the Federal Highway Police, agents went to the address when they received information about a possible clone vehicle with plates belonging to Coronel Fabriciano (MG), which was traveling along the highway. Also according to the PRF, during the approach, the 39-year-old driver told the agents that the vehicle had been passed on to him as a form of debt payment on a R$200,000 loan. He also said that he left Santa Catarina (SC) to pick up the vehicle in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The original vehicle was licensed in Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and had been reported stolen in June of this year. The man and the vehicle were taken to the Piraí police station, where the stolen vehicle will be recovered and legal measures will be taken. The driver was interviewed and then released.
