The Campinas City Hall building Carlos Bassan/PMC The Campinas City Council (SP) sanctioned the law that readjusts the salaries of municipal employees by 4.39% and increases the value of meal vouchers. The measure was published in the Official Gazette this Monday (6) and is valid retroactively since May 1, 2026. The meal vouchers for employees who are working and work at least 20 hours a week have also been readjusted. The benefit went from R$2,000.11 to R$2,150.12. The increase in salaries applies to: active employees (those who are working); retired civil servants; people who receive a pension from the Social Security Institute of the Municipality of Campinas (Camprev). The adjustment will not be applied to: mayor; deputy mayor; municipal secretaries. The law also increases funeral assistance, a benefit paid to help cover the costs of a civil servant's burial. The maximum reimbursement amount went from R$4,000 to R$6,000. In a statement, the Campinas Municipal Public Service Workers' Union (STMC) reported that the adjustment was approved by employees at a general meeting. "The specific agendas for each sector continue to be debated in meetings already defined between the STMC and Government representatives", highlighted the union.
