DPBEA open-door event makes 14 rescued dogs and 8 cats available for adoption Disclosure The Department of Animal Protection and Welfare (DPBEA) is holding, this Saturday (18), the first edition of "DPBEA Open Doors", at the organization's headquarters, located in Vila Boa Vista. On the day of the event, 14 dogs and 8 cats will be available for adoption, all rescued from abandonment or abuse in the region. ? The visit was organized after reports of mistreatment and lack of structure at the site at the beginning of the year. The body was inspected by the Environmental Police, which found overcrowding, structural and sanitary flaws. Because of the irregularities, DPBEA received a fine of R$447,000 and was ordered by the Public Ministry (MP) to take a series of measures to improve the structure of all units. The renovations are still being carried out according to schedule and are currently focused on the central kennel. ?
