During the investigation, Antônio José Belmont Saraiva's cell phone was found in the Âncora neighborhood, close to a stream. According to police, the device may have been discarded at the scene. The investigations are now conducted by the Anti-Kidnapping Division (DAS) of the Civil Police and remain confidential. The place where the businessman's body was found was examined by the Civil Police. The body was then removed by the Fire Department and sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Macaé. According to information provided to the IML, the family must attend the institute for identification procedures.
