The accident occurred around 5:20 am on Avenida São Francisco, close to Rua da Constitution. Images obtained by g1 show that the pole fell on the vehicle. Witnesses reported, by telephone, that the driver was inside the car. In a statement, however, the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) said that the driver was not located when the teams arrived. The stretch between Braz Cubas and Adhemar de Figueiredo Lira streets was blocked until the vehicle was removed and the pole was replaced. CPFL Piratininga was called and announced that teams had been mobilized to respond to the incident. “Work is already underway to restore public lighting at the site as soon as possible, safely,” the concessionaire said in a statement.
