Nursing technicians Alex and Jayne, after giving birth in an elevator, in Bragança Paulista, SP Personal archive What was supposed to be just another shift became a remarkable experience for the nursing technicians at the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) in Piracaia, in the interior of São Paulo: a labor that began in the ambulance. Those who participated in the episode, in the early hours of this Tuesday (7), were nursing technicians Jayne Lopes and Alex, who were called at around 2:50 am to transport a passenger who was in labor. According to Jayne, the mother was treated in Piracaia and taken to Santa Casa de Bragança Paulista. On the way, however, little Eloá decided to begin her early arrival into the world. ? The baby was crowned, the pain intensified, but we were already close to Bragança", said Jayne, who has been a nursing technician since 2018 and has worked at Samu for seven years. When they entered Bragança Paulista, the baby was already 'crowned' and on the way to Santa Casa, still in the elevator, Eloá decided to be born.

“When we entered Santa Casa, when we took the elevator to go up to obstetrics, it progressed to complete expulsive labor.” The little one was born at exactly 3:49 am, weighing 3.6 kg. According to Jayne, both the baby and the mother did well after the Samu protocols, carried out by professionals. To g1, the nursing technician said that this was not the first time she participated in a birth. "In the time that I've been at Samu, seven years, seven babies have been born to me, this was the seventh, it's one per year. I joke that God empowers me, God gives me wisdom and it's one per year, literally", he said. For her, Eloá's birth this morning was not a shock. "It wasn't a shock, because we are confident in what we do. We believe in what we do, we are confident and we always try to be a very good, qualified professional, always seeking knowledge. Our hearts always quicken, because it's a different story than the other", he said. If Jayne's was the seventh birth in the profession, for her partner Alex, who also participated in the scene, it was the first time. "It was his first birth, his first experience, I already have a lot of experience. He was super excited, really gratifying, and the funny thing is that today wasn't my shift, I'm on extra duty and God surprised us with that", he said. "It's gratitude for everything. I love what I do, I'm here to serve the population of Piracai", concluded Jayne.
