The procedures had been suspended since last Friday (3) due to a pending issue related to the documentation required to carry out the action. After a new analysis, Health Surveillance authorized the start of surgeries. The expectation is that around 900 patients will be treated by the joint effort.

The suspension had been determined because the Health Surveillance indicated a lack of evidence regarding the planning for the execution of the joint effort, including the validation of the medical teams responsible for the procedures. Santa Casa de Chavantes, the social organization that manages the hospital, stated that all documentation has always been in order and that, with the release, consultations and surgeries already scheduled will be resumed. The municipal health secretary informed that the suspension did not change the collective effort's schedule. Release occurs during change of hospital management Authorization from Health Surveillance takes place amidst the change in administration of the Taubaté Municipal Hospital. Last Wednesday (1st), the City Hall announced that it will not renew the contract with Santa Casa de Chavantes, responsible for managing the unit. The contract ends at the end of this month. To date, a new notice to define the hospital's next manager has not yet been published.
