In the area of ??animal protection, councilors must vote on a replacement for Bill No. 31/2025. The text amends the Statute for the Protection, Defense and Control of Domestic Animal Populations in Campinas to prohibit the breeding and sale of dogs and cats whose genetic crossings cause harm to the health and well-being of puppies or perpetuate health problems that already exist in breeding animals. The matter will be analyzed in a second discussion. The proposal provides for a fine of between 1,500 and 3,800 UFICs, seizure of the animals and revocation of the municipal registration and business license of the company responsible for the infraction. The vote on Bill No. 194/2025, which provides for preventing the occupation of municipal positions, jobs and public functions by people convicted of the crime of animal abuse, must also be carried out in the first discussion. ? Bill No. 74/2025 is also on the agenda, which creates the Municipal Policy for Comprehensive Protection for People with Celiac Disease. The proposal will be voted on in a second discussion. The text establishes guidelines for caring for people with the condition in hospitals, schools, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and hotels. Among the planned measures are the offering of gluten-free meals in hospitals and in the municipal education network, protocols to avoid cross-contamination during food preparation and the identification of products with gluten on menus. The proposal also foresees that supermarkets with an area of ??more than 500 square meters or more than three checkouts register gluten-free products in exclusive and highlighted spaces, in addition to the creation of the Gluten-Free Company Seal for establishments that offer this type of food.
